Adoption Information & Services

Vital Records Services is responsible for the registration, documentation, correction, and amendment of vital events, including birth, death, marriage, paternity actions, adoption, and divorce. The Voluntary Adoption Registry, the Putative Father Registry, and the Abandoned Child Registry are maintained in this section.

Health Statistics and Surveillance provides bio statistical research and analysis, manages population-based surveys as the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) and the Pregnancy Risk Assessment Tracking Survey (PRATS), and administers the Cancer Data Registry of Idaho (CDRI). Several reports and publications are produced and disseminated, including the Idaho Vital Statistics Annual Report.

Vital Records Management is responsible for the management of the VSADS computer data base and assurance of proper coding and data input that supports Vital Records Services and the generation of vital statistics. Field Operations addresses quality of records through computer training and the provision of technical assistance to system participants.
The Bureau of Vital Records and Health Statistics Policy is administered through the Division of Health.
